This is a 10* WESTERN CONFERENCE TOTAL OF THE MONTH on the OVER between the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets.
Anyone that's followed me for any length of time knows that I am primarily a situational handicapper, but that I feel that being "flexible" with one's approach is the best way to procure longterm profits. One angle that I always try to take advantage of are "lopsided" trends or numbers. This is called the "law of averages." Some believe the law of averages is a bit misleading, but regardless, I have always felt that these types of situations have a way of naturally "correcting" themselves over the short, the mid and the long term; and that's definitely the case with this selection. San Antonio has played three games this year and is 2-1 SU and 0-3 ATS, while the O/U is 0-3. Houston has played five games this year, it's 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS, while the O/U is 0-5. This is the first time these teams have met in 2014/15, but it's still significant to note that in the four games they played last season, the O/U was 1-3, including going UNDER in the final three straight. The West is a bit wide open this year, who knows what will happen to the Thunder, it should be a race between the Spurs, the Rockets, the Mavericks and possibly the Warriors (I actually gave out Houston at +1600 as a dark horse champion before the season started). But I digress, this opportunity falls into my system and garners a top rated designation; play on the OVER.
