MLB *AFTERNOON APOCALYPSE*
(MLB) Texas vs. Oakland,
Money Line: -115.00 Texas (Away)
Result: Win
Money Line: -115.00 Texas (Away)
Result: Win
Play: Texas Rangers
Rating: 8*
The Texas Rangers dropped the opener of this four-game set against the Oakland Athletics but have bounced back with back-to-back victories. I like them to claim another victory in the series-finale Thursday afternoon.
Colby Lewis (5-0, 3.00 ERA) will take the ball for Texas today. This is very favorable splits for him as he's done his best work both in day games and on the road this season. He held the Mariners to one run on three hits in seven innings at Seattle his last time out and the Rangers have won each of his past six starts. He's 11-4 with a 3.03 ERA against Oakland.
The A's turn to 23 year old Daniel Mengden who will make his second start in the big leagues. Mengden allowed two runs on six hits and four walks in 5 2/3 innings of a 2-1 loss at Cincinnati in his debut. Rangers are 8-3 in their last 11 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30 and they've been swinging hot bats lately, scoring a total of 17 runs in the last two games.
Rangers are 8-3 in their last 11 road games and 5-2 in Lewis' last seven road starts.
