Rating: 10*

The San Francsiso Giants' bats came alive on Thursday as they defeated the Oakland Athletics to deny the A's to sweep the Bay Area home-and-home series. I like the Giants to ride that momentum when they visit the Arizona Diamondbacks for the opener of a three-game set Friday night.

Johnny Cueto (11-1, 2.42 ERA) takes the ball for San Francisco. He'll be looking to bounce back from his worst start of the year when he was torched for six runs on eight hits in six innings against the Phillies. It's worth noting that San Francisco still won the game 8-7. Cueto is 7-0 with a 2.17 ERA in eight road starts this season and 8-0 with a 1.70 ERA in 10 starts under the lights.

The D'Backs turn to Shelby Miller (2-7, 6.79 ERA) who was hit even harder then Cueto his last time out. Miller was charged with seven runs on 11 hits through six innings of an 11-6 loss at Coors Field. He's not been much better home at Chase Field since joining Arizona, going 0-5 with a 6.97 ERA in six home starts with his new club. Miller has pretty good numbers against the current Giants' roster, but that could all change with tonight's game.

Diamondbacks are 3-15 in their last 18 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Giants are 7-2 in their last nine road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400. Giants are 28-9 in the last 37 meetings in Arizona.
