The Arizona Coyotes have lost seven of their nine games in December, with both wins coming against the very same Edmonton Oilers they'll be visiting tonight. The hosts have not had much going for them for a long time now, recording only one win since Nov 11. I like their chances of snapping an ugly seven game losing streak tonight.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Fatigue - The Coyotes will play their third road game in four days tonight. They're fresh off a demoralizing 7-1 defeat at Vancouver last night and are 0-4 in their last four in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation.
2. Special Teams - The Oilers rank near the bottom of the league on the power play, but they've been far more prolific at home than on the road with 11 of their 13 goals on the man advantage coming at Rexall Place. The Coyotes have gone 6-for-11 on the penalty kill over their last two games and have allowed at least one goal on the penalty kill in nine of their last 10.
3. X-Factor - Taylor Hall ended a three game point drought Sunday as he scored two goals and assisted one against the Stars. He's likely to have an impact tonight as well as he's had 11 points in his last eight match-ups versus Arizona.
Selection: This is a play on the Edmonton Oilers (10*)
