The Toronto Maple Leafs will play their fifth consecutive game on the road as they're coming to TD Garden to face off with the Boston Bruins tonight. They've been poor lately, winning only one of their last six games overall while the home team will be looking to record a fourth consecutive home win. I think we're getting a fair price on the home team who has shown improvement lately after a slow start with Zdeno Chara and David Kejci returning to the ice after injuries.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. The Leafs Leaking Defense - Toronto ranks among the worst team in the league for goals against, and their defensive struggles have been particularly evident as of late. They've conceded 24 goals over their last six games, giving up 34 shots or more in each contest. The Lightning were allowed to test James Reimer 41 times Monday, and that doesn't bode well against a Bruins team that fired 45 shots in their 5-2 win versus Detroit two days ago.
2. Road Woes - The Maple Leafs have been poor on the road all season long, picking up the two points only six times on 15 attempts. Their struggles are likely to continue tonight as they've dropped 14 of the last 19 meetings in Boston.
3. X-Factor - Tuuka Rask is 10-3-0 with a 1.85 GAA against the Leafs over his career.
Selection: This is a play on the Boston Bruins (8*)
