The Arizona Coyotes are coming into this contest on the back off a humbling 6-0 defeat at Dallas after claiming three straight games prior. They'll be opening a six game home-stand tonight hosting the surging Columbus Blue Jackets who are looking to keep a road game winning streak intact, and I think we're getting a good price on them doing just that.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Special Teams - The Blue Jackets have the NHL's best power play unit at their disposal as it is converting on 24.4% of its opportunities. It is 5-for-12 over its last five games, and will be up against the second worst penalty kill unit in the league tonight. Arizona's chances of scoring on the power play should be slim to none, with the Blue Jackets conceding a goal on only five of their 43 penalties in December.
2. Home Woes - Arizona's 7-8-3 home record ranks among the worst in the league and it is averaging a lowly 2.08 goals per game on home ice. Columbus has won four consecutive and five of its last six away from home.
3. X-Factor - Sergei Bobrovsky is coming off a 9-1-1 December behind a 2.14 GAA and has been in goal in each game of the four road game winning streak the Blue Jackets are sporting allowing only six goals.
Selection: This is a play on the Columbus Blue Jackets (8*)
