The Anaheim Ducks are coming into this contest looking continue their domination of the Nashville Predators. This will be the first meeting for the season, but the Ducks have claimed five of the last six meetings and the league leading hosts are looking good at a reasonable price tonight.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Goaltending - The Ducks have not played since defeating the Blues 4-3 two days ago and can go with their No. 1 netminder Fredrik Andersen. He's been dominant lately, going 4-1-1 with a 1.63 GAA over his last six starts. The visitors on the other hand are coming off an OT win at Los Angeles last night, where Pekka Rinne conceded six goals on 30 shots. They might go with Carter Hutton instead, who is 0-3-1 with a 2.74 GAA in four starts this season.
2. Trends - The Ducks have won all of their last nine games playing on one day of rest and are not shying away when facing fierce competition, going 7-2 in their last nine versus teams with a winning percentage above .600.
3. X-Factor - Ryan Kessler has been quiet of late, but snapped a three game point-less skid against the Blues with two assists. He's leading the team with his 121 shots on goal for the season and he'll most likely find the net again sooner rather than later.
