The Seahawks needed a miracle to escape defeat at home against the Packers, and they might not be so lucky here in the Super Bowl. The Patriots appear to be firing on all cylinders, coming off a 45-7 blowout win over the Colts. They used a well balanced attack, with LeGarrette Blount running for 148 yards and three TDs, and Tom Brady throwing for 226 yards and three TDs. If the Pats can move the ball here in this game, I don't think the Seahawks can keep up.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Cracks In The Seattle Defense - There aren't a lot of weaknesses in the league's #1 ranked defense, but they have struggled to stop the run on more than a few occasions this season. DeMarco Murray ran for over 100 yards helping the Cowboys upset the Seahawks in Seattle. Jamaal Charles ran for 159 yards and a pair of TDs in the Chiefs home win over Seattle. I expect the Seahawks to have their hands full trying to stop LeGarrette Blount.
2. Bill Belichick - Pete Carroll doesn't often lose games because he's been out-coached, but it happened once this season when Jeff Fisher's Rams used smoke and mirrors to stymie Seattle. Don't be surprised if Belichick has a few tricks up his sleeve here in the Super Bowl.
3. X-Factor - TE Rob Gronkowski could be a difference maker in this game. He's a nightmare match-up for opposing defenses, and he's scored touchdowns in five straight games.
Selection: This is a play on the New England Patriots (10*)
