The Brooklyn Nets play hosts to the LA Clippers in a Monday meeting. The Nets are considered the big underdogs even at home in this game. The Clippers are coming off an impressive 105-85 win at San Antonio on Saturday night. The Nets meanwhile are coming off a disappointing 127-122 loss in OT at home to the Toronto Raptors. The Clippers are indeed the superior team but this looks to be too many points to cover on the road in this spot for me to back them.
Here are my keys to the game-
Clippers letdown spot- The Clippers are coming off arguably their most impressive win of the season in San Antonio where they blew out the defending champs. To go out east and play a sub-par team record wise in Brooklyn won't be high on the list of things to do for a high profile team in LA. LAC is just 8-16 ATS after scoring 105 points or more.
Clippers ATS trend- The Clippers are just 9-12 ATS on the road this season and 0-2 ATS against the Brooklyn Nets on the road. Against non-conference teams, the Clippers are just 9-12 as well.
Nets revenge spot- The Nets played the Clippers in LA on January 22 and were blown out of the building 123-84. I expect the Nets to be very motivated to get some revenge in this game. Brooklyn is 11-8 ATS revenging a loss this season.
X-Factor- Jarrett Jack has really stepped up in the absence of Deron Williams and is averaging 18.4 points per game during the losing streak that is bound to be snapped at some point.
Selection- This is a play on the Brooklyn Nets.(10*)
