The Vancouver Canucks play host to the road tripping Winnipeg Jets. It is an interesting matchup as both teams have struggled of late. The Canucks are coming off another home loss and the Jets fell last night in Calgary. Both teams have gotten bad defensive play and goaltending in recent stretches and I expect another high scoring game for both. This will result in the easy over goal total.
Here are my keys to the game:
Poor goaltending on both sides- The Canuck's Ryan Miller has allowed 11 goals in the last four games and has lost three of four starts. The Jets meanwhile don't know who to start after getting another poor effort from Michael Hutchinson. Ondrej Pavelec is likely to get the start since he didn't get the start last night but did come in late to get mop up duty with four saves. Pavelec has allowed seven goals over his last two starts.
The Jets overall poor play- The Jets have lost four straight and have not looked good in this stretch of five games where four of which has been on the road. Winnipeg has allowed five goals per game to opponents over this five game stretch.
X-Factor- Canucks sniper Radim Vrbata got his 19th of the year in the last game against the Wild and continues to be a force as the Canucks lone all-star this year.
Selection- This is a play on the OVER 5 in the Vancouver Canucks versus Winnipeg Jets game (10*)
