The struggling LA Kings are in Florida to take on the Panthers in this non-conference game. The Kings have lost two in a row and six of seven coming into this game. The Panthers haven't been all that hot either though with just two wins in their last nine games. The Kings and the Panthers have had a couple days off between games now heading into this game. This should benefit the Kings more though as they are veteran and need this win more as they slip out of playoff contention in the West. Play on the Kings to bounce back as the slight favorite on the road.

The Kings are hungry- This team has championship pedigree and will show it with so many losses starting to pile up. "It's gut-check time," defenseman Matt Greene said. "It's a sprint to the end and we've got to gain ground here."

Kings dominance- LA has dominated the Panthers in recent history. The Kings have beaten the Panthers in three meetings, outscoring them 12-2 over that stretch with two shutouts.

X-Factor- The Kings' sniper Marion Gaborik. Gaborik has scored in four of his last seven games against the Panthers and had one of Los Angeles' three power-play goals on six opportunities in a 5-2 win Nov. 18, the Kings' 10th victory in 11 meetings.
