The Kings wrap up their eastern road trip with a battle in Tampa Bay with the Lightning. These teams have been going in difference directions. The defending champ Kings have looked like nothing like the sort of late after a loss on Thursday against the Panthers has run their current streak to three in a row. The Lightning meanwhile has won six of eight coming into this game. We are all waiting for the Kings to go on a huge run but this won't be a good spot for it to start as the Lightning have near unbeatable at home this season. Expect the dominance to continue.
Here are my keys to game:
Lighting dominance at home- Tampa Bay is 21-4-1 on home ice this season and have just been rolling in general. The Lightning have taken 13 of a possible 16 points since Jan. 15, and most recently won 5-3 in Dallas on Thursday despite blowing an early two-goal lead. Los Angeles is 5-12-6 away from home, losing the last four while getting outscored 14-5.
The poor play of Jonathan Quick- Quick is Los Angeles is 5-12-6 away from home, losing the last four while getting outscored 14-5. Those troubles have been accentuated on the road, where Quick has a 2.91 GAA - compared with 2.22 at home- and only three wins in 18 games.
X-Factor- Ben Bishop is 19-3 with a 1.87 GAA at home this season.
Selection: This is a play on the Tampa Bay Lightning.
