USC and the Stanford will do battle in a Sunday Pac-12 matchup. Stanford 15-7, 6-4(Pac-12) is coming off a 69-67 narrow home loss to UCLA. The Cardinal nearly erased a 22 point second deficit in the second half but fell short. USC (9-13, 1-9 Pac-12) has dropped seven games in a row since its only conference victory of the season, a 71-57 home triumph against California on Jan. 7. The Trojans are just 2-5 on the road this season. This game sets up as a blowout for the home side.
Here are my keys to the game:
Stanford dominance in the series- Stanford has won five of the last seven matchups, including a 78-76 victory in Los Angeles on Jan. 11. The Cardinal swept the season series in 2014, winning 79-71 in overtime on the road and 80-50 at home. Stanford has won 10 of its last 12 games against USC at Maples Pavilion.
Home sweet home for Cardinal- Stanford has won 10 of its 12 home games this season and is 86-29 at Maples Pavilion under head coach Johnny Dawkins.
X-Factor- In six career games, Cardinal senior Chasson Randle is averaging 12.5 points despite shooting 24-67 (35.8 percent) overall. He is averaging 20 points a game this season.
Selection: This is a play on the Stanford Cardinal. (8*)
