The St. Louis Blues picked up a big win Wednesday as they defeated the Wild 6-1 at Minnesota to equalize this Eastern Conference Quarterfinals series to 2-2. Tonight's match-up will be a massive one, and I expect a low-scoring battle to ensue at Scottrade Center.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Situational/Motivational - Whoever loses this game will be on the verge of elimination the next game. Neither team can afford to give up the first goal, particularly not the Blues who would have the knife at their throat at Minnesota with a loss. If the home-team can't afford to go for it, I doubt the road-team will either.
2. Jake Allen - The 24 year old has been stellar so far in the post-season allowing only six goals over the first four games while compiling a .935 SV%.
3. X-Factor - The under is 4-1 in Blues last five when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game and 11-4-3 in their last 18 playing on one days rest.
Selection: This is a play on MIN@STL to go under the total (10*)
