The Cleveland Cavaliers are a 2-1 favorite to win the Eastern Final versus Atlanta, despite the fact that the Hawks took 3-of-4 in the season series, and finished with the best record in the East. The Cavs will need to win at least once in Atlanta if they are going to win this series, but coming off a long layoff I don't like their chances here in Game 1 on the road.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Previous History - Not only did the Hawks win the season series (3-1), they've won eight of the last 10 overall, and they have covered the spread in four straight home meetings with the Cavaliers.
2. Home Cookin' - The Hawks are 40-7 at home this year, and they have won five of six in Atlanta in the post-season. The Hawks are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.
3. X-Factor - The Cavs are batting several injuries to key players, including Kyrie Irving who sat out Game 6 versus Chicago with tendonitis in his knee. Iman Shumpert and Triston Thompson are also banged up.
Selection: This is a play on the Atlanta Hawks (8*)
