Point Spread: 1.50 | -172.00 Milwaukee (Away)
Result: Loss
The Milwaukee Brewers have won four of their last six and are coming off a marquee 5-4 win against division-rivals the St. Louis Cardinals. Tonight they'll visit another division-rival in the Chicago Cubs who have won 10 of their last 11, but I like the Brew Crew's chances of recording an upset here.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The Cubs hand the ball to Dan Haren (7-7, 3.49 ERA) who'll make his second start for the club since coming over from Miami. He conceded four runs (three earned) on seven hits and two walks with a pair of homers over five innings in his debut. He's allowed 23 homers this season, eight in his last four starts alone. Milwaukee can counter with Taylor Jungmann (6-3, 2.26 ERA) who's held opponents to two earned runs or fewer in each of his last eight starts and has compiled a 1.90 ERA over his last six. He's 4-1 with a 2.36 ERA in six road starts for the year.
2. Situational - The Brewers are 5-1 in Jungmann's last six starts as a road underdog and they've won four of their last five following an off day. The Cubs meanwhile are 2-5 in their last seven following an off day.
3. X-Factor - Khris Davis was 2-for-4 in the 5-4 win against the Cardinals Sunday and he's 3-for-4 with a double off Haren in previous match-ups.
Selection: This is a play on the Milwaukee Brewers (8*)
