1* free play on the Chicago Cubs...
The Chicago Cubs earned an eighth consecutive win last night as they outscored local-rival the Chicago White Sox 6-5. I like the price we get on the Cubs to extend their winning streak even further Saturday night.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The White Sox hand the ball to Jose Quintana (6-9, 3.59 ERA) who's 1-4 with a 3.58 ERA home at U.S. Cellular Field this season. He's 0-2 with a 3.54 ERA in three career starts against the Cubs and is off a sub-par performance when he conceded four runs on eight hits and two walks in 6 2/3 innings against the Royals. The Cubs will counter with Jake Arrieta (13-6, 2.38 ERA) who's having a phenomenal season. He's 7-1 with a 1.23 ERA over 10 consecutive quality starts and held the White Sox to one run on a pair of hits in nine innings about a month ago.
2. Road Warriors - The Cubs have won four of the last five meetings at U.S. Cellular Field and they're 8-1 in Arrieta's 12 road-starts for the year. Arrieta has compiled a minuscule 2.12 ERA over those games.
3. X-Factor - Dexter Fowler is 5-for-11 with two doubles, a triple and a home-run in his last three starts. He's 3-for-6 in previous meetings with Quintana.
