*10* TOTAL DOMINATION on OVER Penguins/Oilers.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have won five straight and all but one of their last nine after starting the season with three consecutive losses. They've done so behind a stellar defense, but I think we'll see both teams light up the lamp quite a few times tonight when they visit the Edmonton Oilers at Rexall Place.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Connor McDavid's Injury - The No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft suffered a broke collar-bone when he crashed into the boards in Tuesday's 4-2 win against the Flyers. This will be the Oilers first game without their new superstar, and what often happens in those situations is that other players step up instead. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is one candidate as he's riding a six-game point streak and found the net twice against Philadelphia.
2. The Oilers' Defense - Edmonton is allowing 3.57 goals per game home at Rexall this season and its netminder Cam Talbot is 1-3-0 with a 3.79 GAA in his last four starts overall. The Oilers defense will have to deal with a Sidney Crosby that is heating up after a slow start and has recorded 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) in eight career meetings with Edmonton.
3. X-Factor - The over is 5-0-1 in the Oilers last six overall.
Selection: This is a play on PIT@EDM to go OVER the total (10*)
