The New York Islanders opened a three-game California road-swing with a 4-2 win at San Jose Tuesday. They'll now face the Kings and the Ducks on back-to-back nights, and I don't like their chances of recording an upset when visiting Staples Center tonight.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. The Kings' Shooting Advantage - The Kings have the second most shots on goal at 31.8 per game and have registered 33 shots or more in five straight contests. The Islanders were fairly lucky to run away with the win against the Sharks two days ago considering they were out-shot 36-25.

2. The Kings' Power Play - Los Angeles has scored on the power play in four consecutive games to improve to a 21.3% success rate for the season. The Islanders have allowed three goals over 12 shorthanded situations in their last four games combined.

3. X-Factor - Los Angeles has won nine of the last 12 meetings overall and four of the last five at Staples Center.
