*10* Coach's Clinic on New York Rangers.
The New York Rangers picked up their mere second win in seven games when they defeated the Ottawa Senators 4-1 Sunday. Tonight they'll open a Western Canadian three-game road-trip though, and I like their chances of kick-starting the trip with a win at Vancouver.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Previous History - Travelling through B.C. and Alberta does not seem to bother the Rangers who defeated the Nucks 5-1 before winning at both Edmonton and Calgary in last season's trek through Western Canada. They've won five of the last six meetings overall with the Nucks, including three straight at Vancouver while outscoring their opponent 12-2.
2. The Canucks' Recent Games - Vancouver ended a five-game slide with a 5-2 win against Buffalo Monday. It has failed to record back-to-back wins on four straight occasions though and its 0-7 in its last seven after allowing two goals or less in its previous game.
3. X-Factor - Vancouver is just 4-6-3 home at Rogers Arena this season, and the Rangers are 13-3 in their last 16 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400.
Selection: This is a play on the New York Rangers (10*)
