*10* Poinsettia Bowl SIDE WINNER on Boise State.
The Boise State Broncos closed out the season with an impressive win over San Jose State, while the Northern Illinois Huskies are coming off a loss to Bowling Green in the MAC Championship game. I like the Broncos to get the better of the Huskies in the Poinsettia Bowl.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Previous History - The Broncos have done well against teams from the MAC, covering the spread in each of their last five. They are 6-2 ATS in their last eight non-conference games, and have covered in five of their last seven bowl games.
2. Quarterbacks - The Huskies lost starter Drew Hare to a season ending injury, and backup Ryan Graham was pretty pedestrian throwing for 653 yards with six TDs and three INTs in four starts. The Broncos are in much better shape with Brett Rypien, who threw for 2,976 yards 17 TDs and 7 INTs.
3. X-Factor - The Huskies are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 neutral site games.
Selection: This is a play on the Boise State Broncos (10*)
