*8* play on UNDER Knicks/Spurs.
The New York Knicks have started the new year on a high note and are off three consecutive victories. A win won't come easy against the San Antonio Spurs tonight, but odds are the the Knicks will be able to keep the scoreline down enough to see this game go under the total.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. San Antonio's Defense - The Spurs are giving up a league-low 89.5 points per game and had little trouble to contain tonight's opponent in a 94-84 win at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 2 in a game where the Knicks shot just 36% from the field.
2. New York's Deceiving Numbers - The Knicks have averaged 105.3 points over their last three games, but neither of their opponents in those games are playing defense the way the Spurs does. New York had scored just 93.5 per game over its last six prior to the current winning streak and their 96.2 possessions per game is among the fewest in the league so expect them to take care of the ball and drag down the tempo in this contest.
3. X-Factor - The Spurs' point guard Tony Parker has sat out the last two games with a hip injury and it is unclear whether he'll feature tonight.
Selection: This is a play on NYK@SA to go UNDER the total (8*)
