*10* MASSACRE on Rhode Island.
The George Washington Colonials will host Atlantic 10 rivals Rhode Island in an early game in Washington D.C. Friday. Both teams have won three of five in conference play, and this appears to be a pretty evenly matched contest. While the Colonials are home, I still think they may be asked to cover a few too many points.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Previous History - The Rams are 5-5 in their last 10 overall, but all of those five losses came in close games. The average margin of defeat during that span was just four points.
2. Feeling the Hot Hand - The Rams shot out the lights in a home win over LaSalle on Saturday. They shot 56.8 percent from the field, and 85.7 percent from the free throw line. Rhode Island has been shooting the ball better versus conference opponents than George Washington, shooting for a higher percentage with field goals, three point shots as well as free throws over their last five games.
3. X-Factor - The Colonials are 8-18 ATS in their last 26 versus the Atlantic 10.
Selection: This is a play on the Rhode Island Rams (10*)
