*8* play on Grizzlies.
The Sacramento Kings started the new year strong, but they're coming into this contest on the back of three consecutive defeats to Charlotte, Portland and New Orleans. The Memphis Grizzlies have defeated Orlando and Milwaukee at home at FedExForum already this week and should have no trouble to see off the Kings as well.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. The Kings' Defense - Sacramento has allowed an average of 118.3 points in its last three games and it's surrendering 109.2 points per game on the road this season. That could spell trouble as the Grizzlies offense is very much on song averaging 103.0 points in winning six of their last seven.
2. Home Cookin' - The Grizzlies have won 10 straight meetings with the Kings at Memphis and they've covered the spread in 10 of their last 12 in front of the home town crowd overall.
3. X-Factor - Rudy Gay has played only one of the Kings' last five games and he has sat out the past two due to a corneal abrasion. His status for tonight's game is questionable.
Selection: This is a play on the Memphis Grizzlies (8*)
