*8* LATE-SHOW SPECIAL on Illinois State.
The Wichita State Shockers are rolling, coming into Saturday's game at Illinois State as winners of 12 straight. They are 11-0 versus the Missouri Valley conference, but I think they might be a little overvalued as a double-digit road favorite. The Illinois State Red Birds are a solid team with a 7-4 record in conference play, and my money is on the home dog.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Previous History - These teams played three times last year, and all three of those games were decided by single-digits. The Red Birds have won four of their last five, including an impressive home win over Northern Iowa. They've been red hot from beyond the arc during that span, hitting 41.7 percent from three-point range.
2. MiKyle McIntosh - The sophomore forward scored 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting in Illinois State's win at Loyola on Wednesday. He's scored a total of 62 points on 23-of-37 shooting in his last three games.
3. X-Factor - This line appears to be incredibly inflated, as the Shockers were never asked to cover double-digits in each of the last four road games versus the Red Birds. Their last game at Illinois State was decided by just six points.
Selection: This is a play on the Illinois State Red Birds (8*)
