*10* GAME OF THE MONTH on New York Islanders.

The New York Islanders drew the short straw when they lost 3-2 in overtime against Washington last night, but I think they look good to rebound with a win at New Jersey here the next day.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Situational - Playing on back-to-back nights does not seem to be a concern for the Islanders as they're 5-1 in their last six games playing on no days rest. Match-ups at Prudential Center have also been favorable for the Islanders in recent times winning six of the past seven meetings with the Devils in New Jersey.

2. John Tavares - The Islanders captain is on fire with seven goals and nine assists over his last 11 games. He tallied one goal in a 4-0 victory in the last matchup in this series on Dec. 13.

3. X-Factor - The Islanders Jaroslav Halak sat out last night's contest but he's expected to be back tonight continuing his dominance of the Devils after posting a 5-0-1 record behind a 1.29 GAA in his last six meetings.
