*8* play on New York Rangers.
The New Jersey Devils will host the New York Rangers for the fourth and last game of this season's Hudson River rivalry series. The Devils have claimed two of the previous three meetings of the season, but the Rangers won the most recent on Feb. 8 and I'm backing the visitors in tonight's match-up.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. The Devils' Recent Games - New Jersey is the worst offensive team in the league averaging just 2.2 goals per game and it needs its defense to perform at a top level in order to win. That has not been the case lately as its coming off three consecutive losses while surrendering a total of 11 goals compared to just six scored in that span.
2. Henrik Lundqvist - The Rangers goaltender is 4-1-0 with a 1.20 GAA in his last five starts and he's 3-1-1 with a 1.59 GAA in his last five match-ups with the Devils.
3. X-Factor - The Rangers are 6-0 in their last six vs. Eastern Conference while the Devils are 1-6 in their last seven vs. conference foes.
Selection: This is a play on the New York Rangers (8*)
