*10* SPECIAL on New York Islanders.
Two teams heading in a very different state of mind will clash at MTS Centre Thursday night when the New York Islanders visit the reeling Winnipeg Jets. I think we're getting a good price on the red hot visitors in this contest.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Road Warriors - The Islanders will make their sixth stop on a seven-game trip and they've been very successful so far winning four of the previous five. A match-up at Winnipeg should not slow them down as they're 6-1 in the last seven meetings at MTS Centre.
2. The Islanders' Goaltending Situation - The visitors have two strong options as Thomas Greiss made 32 saves in Tuesday's 3-2 win at Vancouver and is leading the NHL with a .931 SV% while Jaroslav Halak is 3-1-0 behind a 1.24 GAA in his last four outings. Winnipeg is not quite as blessed with both Ondrej Pavelec and Michael Huthchison struggling.
3. X-Factor - The Jets are 0-9 in their last 9 vs. Eastern Conference while the Islanders are 18-5 in their last 23 vs. teams from the West.
Selection: This is a play on the New York Islanders (10*)
