ROGERS 10* GAME OF WEEK (5-1 L6)
(NHL) Pittsburgh vs. NY Islanders,
Money Line: -115.00 NY Islanders (Home)
Result: Win
Money Line: -115.00 NY Islanders (Home)
Result: Win
The New York Islanders will host Metropolitan Division-rival the Pittsburgh Penguins at Barclays Center. The Pens won the first meeting of the season 5-2 back on Jan. 2, but I think the Islanders will get revenge for that loss tonight.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Home Cookin' - The Islanders have won four of their last five at home, and this is a very favorable situation as they're returning home from a lengthy road-trip. The Isles are a perfect 5-0 in their last five following a road trip of seven or more days and they're carrying all the momentum in the world from a 6-1-0 trip.
2. Pittsburgh Off A Win - The Pens put up a solid performance as they defeated the Devils 6-1 Sunday. They've had trouble to record back-to-back wins lately though losing six of their last seven following a win. It will be particularly tough on the road tonight as they average only 2.32 goals per game on the road which can be compared to the Islanders 3.23 goals per game average in front of the home town crowd.
3. X-Factor - New York's John Tavares has three goals and three assists in the past four meetings with the Pens.
Selection: This is a play on the New York Islanders (10*)
