After going just 2-9 in their last 11, the as are desperate for a victory here. Fortunately for them they have the advantage in the opener of this series with Minnesota with what I believe to be the vastly superior starting pitcher on the hill tonight in this matchup. Minnesota is just 2-5 in its last seven. Kevin Gausman is 2-3 with a 3.14 ERA for the Jays, while Louie Varland is 2-0 with a 4.18 ERA for the Twins. Guasman now enters on top form though, having conceded just four earned runs over his last 21 innings of work. This line could/should in fact be larger in my professional opinion.
