This is the finale of a 5-game series between the clubs. The Mets are 3-1 so far after taking both games of yesterday's double-header by scores of 8-5 and 6-2. ATL is 7-2 in its last 9 in trying to avenge 2 or more straight losses against an opponent. Yes, New York has its "ace" on the mound in Jacob deGrom, but I like Spencer Strider to match him inning for inning. deGrom is 0-0 with a 1.80 ERA and is making just his 2nd start of the season. Strider is 6-2 with a 2.79 ERA. deGrom didn't factor into the decision in his first start, giving up 1 run over 5 innings to the Nationals. Strider enters off a gem, allowing 1 run over 7 frames in a victory over Philly on Tuesday (Strider has now conceded 1 or less runs 8 times in 12 starts since the end of May.) In a contest that I see being decided late, or even in extras, I'm going to suggest a second look at Atlanta on the runline option on Sunday afternoon!
