I think the conditions are right for a higher-scoring game in the finale of this four-game set. It's true that Cubs' rookie starter Kyle Hendricks (4-1, 1.73 ERA) has been fantastic to this point, but I think he will have his hands full with a determined New York side which has dropped four of six on a homestand that ends today. Things certainly don't get any easier for the Metropolitans as they open a two-game series in Oakland on Tuesday, before then heading to Chavez Ravine for three with the Dodgers. The home side turns to veteran Bartolo Colon (11-10, 3.85 ERA) who has been up-and-down all season; while Colon has been decent of late, note that he sports a pedestrian 4.69 ERA in eight "day games" this season. And note that the Cubs have seen the total go OVER the number in 32 of 57 road games this year, while the Mets have seen the total eclipse the number in 12 of their last 17 vs. teams with losing records. All signs point to the OVER as the sharp wager in this matchup.
