This is an 8* BLOCKBUSTER on the Baltimore Ravens.

While every game is an important one, this is an almost do-or-die contest in my opinion for the home side as it looks to avoid falling in an 0-2 hole and to also create a new identity for itself without a key piece of its offense as RB Ray Rice was let go due to his domestic battery charge. Baltimore is coming off a 23-16 loss at home to Cincinnati, while the Steelers would hold on for dear life in a 30-27 victory over the Browns. Defensively the Ravens look strong and and have a big opportunity for another big performance on that side of the ball against a Steelers unit which looked far from fantastic. It wasn't all doom and gloom for the Ravens though as newcomer Steve Smith caught an 80-yard pass from Joe Flacco, who would finish 35 of 62 for 345 total yards. Baltimore now turns to Justin Forsett who ran for 70 yards and a TD in place of Rice. Pittsburgh on the other hand would let a 24-piont lead evaporate in the second half as the Browns rolled up 288 of their 389 total yards after the break; and Cleveland did that without star WR Josh Gordon, plus RB Ben Tate and TE Jordan Cameron. So as good as Pittsburgh looked in the first half in jumping out to a 27-3 lead, was just as inept as it looked while trying to hold the advantage. And note, Pittsburgh comes to Baltimore on the short week with significant injuries, RB Dri Archer and S Shamarko Thomas are both questionable due to injury, while WRs Martavis Bryand and Lance Moore are also questionable. I think the home side takes advantage and finds a way to get the job done at the end of the night; play on BALTIMORE!
