This is a 6* PUCK-LINE DESTRUCTION on the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Some times I recommend laying the 1.5 goals for a healthy return with puck line picks and other times I believe that laying the chalk for the extra 1.5 goals of insurance is the way to go. Suffice it to say, this sets up as a classic "look ahead" spot for the Capitals and I like the hungry visiting side to at the very least keep this one close enough to escape with the ATS victory. Columbus comes in with momentum as well, winner of four straight. Washington has struggled at home all year and I believe will get caught looking ahed to its game vs. Tampa Bay on Saturday, the Capitals just beat the Lightning 5-3 on Tuesday. Columbus looks to take advantage as the Capitals are allowing an average of 2.85 goals in Washington. This is also a revenge game for the Blue Jackets after falling 4-2 in the nation's capital on November 11th. Both teams' starting and backup goaltenders have been decent of late, but note that Washington is already 0-2 (-4.4 units) this year after playing three consecutive road games, while Columbus is 32-22 (+8.4 units) in its last 54 vs. teams with winning records.
