This is a 10* SUPER ELITE PLATINUM CLUB TOTAL on the UNDER between the Edmonton Oilers and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
For a number of different reasons I think this total will sneak below the posted number once the final horn blares. The Lightning will surely be eager to return to their winning ways, they are back home after a couple of blowout road losses, a 7-3 destruction at Philadelphia on Monday and a 4-3 setback at Boston the next night: "We lost two in a row," coach Jon Cooper said. "It's happened to us before. Big thing for us is we can't make it three in a row." Lowly Edmonton will look to take advantage and try to steal another one after winning 3-2 over the Bolts back on October 20th. However, take note that the Oilers are 0-7-6 on the road since November 9th and it doesn't get any easier in facing goaltender Ben Bishop who is 14-3-1 with a 2.00 GAA at home and who is 2-1-0 with a 1.97 GAA in four starts vs. Edmonton. Note that the Oilers have seen the total go UNDER the number in nine of 15 this year after a loss by two goals or more, and note that the Lightning have seen it stay below the posted number in nine of 16 in trying to revenge an earlier loss vs. an opponent. In my opinion, the situation, the numbers and the trends do all indeed point to the UNDER as the savvy move here.
