This is a 10* O/U WEST-COAST EXPRESS on the OVER between the Anaheim Ducks and the Vancouver Canucks.
For a number of different reasons I expect this total to eclipse the posted number as the game comes down the stretch. I think this is a great play from a situational stand point, Vancouver has had a lot of issues with the Ducks over the years, but there's no time like the present to buck that trend, Anaheim has in fact won six straight overall and nine straight at Rogers Arena without a regulation loss. So far the Ducks are 2-0-1 in the season series, but they're 7-0-2 with an average of 4.11 goals per game in Vancouver since 2010. Most recently Anaheim handled Calgary 6-3 on Wednesday. Ducks' goaltender Frederik Andersen has pretty much owned the Canucks, but I think he'll have his hands full with the determined home side which had a three-game win streak snapped in Tuesday's 4-1 loss at Tampa Bay. Vancouver goaltender Ryan Miller has been hot of late, but note that this is a spot in which the Canucks have seen the total go OVER the number in 11 of their last 19 after playing to three or more consecutive UNDERS, while Anaheim has seen it sail above the posted number in two of three this year when playing with three or more days of rest. After taking all of the above factors into consideration, there's no doubt in my mind that the savvy move in this one is indeed on the OVER.
