AAA's MLB MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT!
(MLB) Washington vs. Philadelphia, 04/10/2015 3:05 PM, Score: 1 - 4
Money Line: -149.00 Washington (Away)
Result: Loss
This is an 8* MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT on the Washington Nationals.

I think the clear talent discrepancy on the mound absolutely justifies in laying this mid-sized price, and despite being down a couple of key offensive pieces, fully expect the under-achieving visitors to take advantage of this match-up and find a way to get the job done at the end of the night. The Nats look to shake off a frustrating opening series in which they scored six runs while dropping two of three to the Mets. Gio Gonzalez gets the call for Washington, he was 10-10 with a 3.57 ERA in 27 starts last year, his worst mark since 2009; note though that Gonzalez has looked solid through spring, posting a highly respectable 2.79 ERA in five starts. The Phillies can completely empathize with the Nationals, they totaled just six runs in their opening series while dropping two of three to Boston. And just like the Nats, Philadelphia is also dealing with a few injuries to its offense. The home side sends Jerome Williams to the mound, who was 6-7 with a 4.77 ERA in 37 appearances last year; note Williams struggled mightily in the spring, he'd finish with a deplorable 7.40 ERA and 13:3 K:BB ratio in 20 2/3's innings. For the most part, MLB handicapping comes down to the starting pitching and that's primarily what I'm basing this selection on, Gonzalez and the NATIONALS are well worth the price in this spot.
