For a number of different reasons I expect this total to fall below the posted number once the final horn sounds. Sacramento has gone just 9-18 under George Karl, who returns to Denver for the first time since being fired two years ago. Note that leading Kings scorer DeMarcus Cousins has now officially been shutdown for the season because of a sore right foot. Also note that Rudy Gay is out for the season due to a concussion. And finally, Darren Collison is also siting because of muscle injury. These three players have accounted for over 60% of the team's scoring this year. The Nuggets are limping to the finish line after dropping five of their last six, most recently an exhausting 144-143 double-overtime setback at Dallas on Friday. Note that Sacramento has seen the total go UNDER the number in 28 of 52 as an underdog this year, while Denver has seen it dip below the posted number in 20 of 29 vs. teams with losing records this season. These teams have nothing to play for, I think this lack of focus will translate into some sloppy play on the court, with this total eventually falling UNDER the number once the final horn sounds.
