This is a 7* SUPER-BLOWOUT on the New York Rangers.
Game 1 clearly could have gone either way, but somehow the Capitals managed to gut out the 2-1 victory in the double over time period. I had the Rangers in that contest and felt that Washington was going to come in with "heavy legs" after battling through seven games with the Islanders, New York clearly failing to take advantage of that factor. But that won't be the case this afternoon in my opinion, I think the Capitals will fold up their tents early today and just be thrilled to be heading home with a 1-1 split. It's safe to say that the Rangers will be the much more desperate team and desperation breeds motivation, look for this focus and determination to translate into production on the ice. Also note that the Capitals are a poor 1-4 (-3 units) in their last five games when leading in a playoff series, while the Rangers are 11-3 (+8.3 units) after scoring one goal or less in their previous contest. I have no problem laying the price on NEW YORK this afternoon.
