The home side counters with Jonathon Niese (3-7, 4.12 ERA) who is also coming off a sub-par start in which he gave up two runs off eight hits over six innings of work. After a great start to the season, Niese is starting to slow down a bit, note that he's just 2-2 with a pedestrian 4.25 ERA in front of the home town crowd this year and just 3-5 with a 3.44 ERA in all "night" games. Recent performance plays a part in my MLB handicapping process and with both starters struggling with control issues right now, the OVER is indeed worthy of a second look in our professional opinion.
