This is a 10* TOTAL ART OF WAR on the UNDER between the Detroit Tigers and the Minnesota Twins.
These teams have been putting runs on the board at a prodigious rate of late, but I think that the conditions are right for these starters to battle into the latter frames and am ultimately expecting this total to sneak below the posted number. Minnesota had 16 hits in yesterday's 9-5 win, moving the Twins to 5-1 on a seven-game home stay. And that was less than 24 hours after a seven-run ninth resulted in Friday's unlikely 8-6 come back victory. Success breeds complacency though and I think that's something that Detroit starter Shane Greene (4-6, 5.82 ERA) can take advantage of; Greene started the year on fire, but quickly cooled and was demoted to Triple-A, where he went 1-1 with a 3.42 ERA in five starts. Kyle Gibson (7-6, 3.04 ERA) has had no such issues this season though, he's looking to win four straight starts for the first time in his career, having posted a tiny 1.74 ERA in the last three, most recently giving up two runs over six innings, while striking out seven in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Orioles. While the majority of the public goes one way, we'll go the other, play on the UNDER.
