This is a 7* SITUATIONAL PITCHING MISMATCH on the San Francisco Giants.

We don't foresee an upset here and look for Madison Bumgarner and the home side to take full advantage of this favorable matchup. San Francisco can ill afford to look past anyone at this point of the season obviously as it continues to make a push at the playoffs despite mounting odds. The Giants come in with a ton of momentum, they've won eight of their last 11 while hitting .307 with 6.1 runs per game and a 2.85 ERA. Bumgarner (18-7, 2.91 ERA) has been nearly unbeatable the last few months, going 7-1 with a tiny 1.81 ERA over his last eight starts (also note that the hard-throwing southpaw owns a 12.2 K-to-walk ratio in that span): "I'm here to win games. That's it," said Bumgarner after giving up just one hit in an 8-0 win over the Friars on Saturday over eight innings. "All the other stuff is really cool and I'll take it. It would definitely be special, but winning is what I like most." And a date at home is just what the doctor ordered to keep the Giants' ace on track, he's 9-2 with a 1.85 ERA in 15 home starts, which includes a minuscule 1.31 mark over his last nine in San Francisco. Also note that he's dominated the Diamondbacks of late, going 5-2 with a highly respectable 1.94 ERA in his past 30 outings vs. them. The floundering visitors counter with Rubby De La Rosa (12-8, 4.75 ERA) who comes in with zero momentum whatsoever, posting a deplorable 8.50 ERA over his last four starts, most recently coming off the shortest outing of his career, going two innings and allowing six runs and nine hits in Saturday's 9-5 loss to the Dodgers. The massive talent discrepancy on the mound, combined with strong situational factors make this a price we can definitely live with paying, play on the GIANTS.
