This is a 10* GAME OF THE WEEK on the New Orleans Pelicans.

We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. Sometimes we keep it simple, while other times we'll take into account a bunch of different factors, like motivation, scheduling and significant injuries. Recognizing classic "spot bets" is something we always do as well, IE: the "look ahead" spot, the "let down" spot and the "trap" game. The actual contestants on the field of play rarely enter into our equation when making selections, unless it's a Top 3 player like a LeBron James or Aaron Rodgers etc. One set of criteria which we almost always use when making our decisions are Against The Spread (ATS) statistics. Sometimes these stats can be overrated and other times they help foreshadow the outcome of a contest.

This particular play is based on scheduling:

Running out of gas yet?: The Warriors continue to get the job done, they come into this one having won four straight and nine of their last ten, but there's no question that the team has to be feeling a bit tired at this point of the season. With the playoffs on the horizon, at some point it's not too hard to imagine the Warriors to start to have a bit of a mental letdown. And with the lowly Knicks on deck after the 24-41 Pelicans tonight, before a grueling road trip which starts next week in Dallas and at San Antonio, it's definitely not to hard to imagine the team getting caught looking past this "vanilla" stretch to the much more important part of their schedule next week.

The bottom line: We feel it's a great spot to pull the trigger on this "situational" selection, grab as many points as you can with the PELICANS.
