This is a 10* TOTAL OF THE WEEK on the OVER between the New York Yankees and the Houston Astros.

The New York Yankees are 6-4 in their last ten and would take two of three from the visiting Giants over the weekend, including a 5-2 result yesterday. Over those ten games the Yanks have seen the total go UNDER the number in every contest. While the "Law of Averages" is indeed flawed in many ways, we've always been of the belief that lop-sided numbers and trends have a way of naturally "correcting" themselves over the short, mid and long-term. And if recent history between these clubs is any precedence, then it's time to buckle up for some offensive fireworks as five of their last six have indeed sailed OVER the posted number. The visitors hand the ball to Michael Pineda (4-9, 5.25 ERA) who has been all over the map as far as his game-to-game consistency has been concerned. Note that Pineda is a poor 1-5 with a ballooned 5.70 ERA on the road to date. The hard-hitting home side counters with Dallas Keuchel (6-9, 4.70) who has looked a lot better of late and who has had considerable success vs. the Yanks throughout his career. We're still unconvinced though that Keuchel has fully "turned the corner" after a disastrous start to the 2016 campaign and note that he's just 4-5 with a 4.93 ERA in all night games this year. When taking into account all of the above information, all signs do indeed point to the OVER as the savvy move in this contest.
