The Mets have seen the total go OVER the number in five straight, including in all three so far in this Subway Series. The Yanks have also seen the total go OVER the number in five straight. Suffice it to say, we're finally expecting more of a duel today as we look for this total to sneak below the postd number once it's all said and done. The visitors hand the ball to the venerable Bartolo Colon (9-6, 3.58 ERA) who comes in off a rare dud vs. the Rockies on Saturday, allowing five runs off seven hits with one walk while striking out four over five innings. Colon though had given up just one earned run over seven innings in his previous start. Colon will now look to improve upon his solid 5-3, 3.43 ERA road record. The home side counters with Nathan Eovaldi (9-7, 4.78) who took a loss in his last start, despite giving up just thre earned runs off three hits over six innings in his team's 6-3 setback to the Rays on Saturday. Note that it was the first time in six appearances that he'd give up a home run. Regardless, it was Eovaldi's second straight quality start and it capped off a solid July. He'll now look to improve upon his 5-2, 4.28 ERA record in front of the home town crowd. Taking into account all of the above information, we do indeed feel this number is just a little bit high, play the UNDER.
