AAA's OPENING NIGHT TOP TOTAL (+$10K NHL RUN CONTINUES!)
(NHL) Toronto vs. Ottawa, 10/12/2016 3:00 PM, Score: 4 - 5
Total: 5.50 | 109.00 Over
Result: Loss
This is a 5* TOP TOTAL on the UNDER between the Toronto Maple leafs and the Ottawa Senators.

Setting the scene: We're going to play it a bit conservative over the first couple of weeks until we get a firm "read" on each of the teams, but we feel that all signs point to a lower-scoring affair between these rivals on Opening night.

Toronto: The Leafs had a poor defense last year, but brough in Frederik Anderson from the Ducks in the offseason. He was 22-9-7 with Anaheim last year with a 2.30 GAA. Note that he's 3-0 with a 1.95 GAA in three career outings against the Sens. Toronto was poor offensily last year, averaging just 2.34 GPG. Note that the penalty kill was above average though, ranked 13th in the league with an 81.6 percent efficiency rating.

Ottawa: The offense was great last year and will only be better with Derick Brassard, who was signed from the Rangers in the offseason. The defense was poor though and will be looking to take a step forward this year. Craig Anderson is back between the pipes, he was 31-23-5 with a 2.78 GAA last season. He's also 11-6-3 with a 2.61 ERA in 21 career outings against Toronto.

The bottom line: We think the stage is set for these two competent starting goaltenders to battle it out and look for this total to sneak UNDER the number once it's all said and done.
