This is a 5* play on the UNDER between FIU and Charlotte.
Setting the scene: FIU enters off consecutive wins, most recently over FAU and UTEP. The 49ers also come in off a win, handling FAU on the road to snap a nine-game conference losing streak. Both teams will be hungry, as each is still just 2-4. This contest has essentially become a "must-win" for bowl eligibility.
FIU: It's manged 34 points in consecutive wins, but the competition level was clearly very low. Anthony Jones has posted 218 yards on the ground over the last two weeks.
Charlotte: The 49ers will be looking to do what they do best and that's run the ball. QB Hasaan Klugh made his first career start last week and he'd go 14 of 17 for 277 total yards and four TD's.
The bottom line: Both teams struggle defensively, but each catches a break this week becuase they each also struggles offensively. Note that FIU has seen the total go UNDER the number in nine of its last 13 on the road, while Charlotte has seen the total dip below the number in five of its last eight at home. Play the UNDER.
