Detroit won Game 1 by a score of 2-1, and Matt Boyd tossed six innings of 1-hit ball in the victory. Michael Fulmer will toe the slab for the home team today, and I expect to see another standout performance.

Fulmer tossed six scoreless innings, giving up just four hits and walking two in a home win over the Red Sox in his season debut. The Tigers won 14 of his final 16 starts last season, and he did his best work in day games. The 24 year old was 5-0 with a 1.78 ERA in eight starts in the afternoon.

The Twins hand the ball to Kyle Gibson, who wasn't all that sharp in his first start of the season. The right-hander allowed three runs on five hits (a pair of home runs), while walking a pair in five innings in a no decision versus Kansas City. He's 4-5 with a 4.84 ERA in his last 10 starts versus Detroit.

The Twins have just seven wins in their last 27 road games.
