Schule's 10* NHL BEAST of the EAST - *EARLY START*
(NHL) NY Rangers vs. Montreal, 10/25/2014 3:00 PM, Score: 1 - 3
Money Line: -124.00 Montreal (Home)
Result: Win
This is a 10* play on the Montreal Canadiens.

The Canadiens will be looking for revenge here as the Rangers defeated them in the Eastern Conference final last season. The visitors are coming off three consecutive wins while the home team is sporting a perfect 3-0-0 record at Bell Centre. Something will have to give in tonight though, and I like the Habs at home.

Henrik Lundqvist has not really played up to standards between the pipes for the Rangers, conceding 18 goals over six starts. The fact that the Rangers have killed only 78% of their penalties might be one reason for his relatively high GAA if 3.15. Carey Price suffered an injury in Game 1 in the East finals last season and missed the rest of the series but he's back to full strength and is likely to be between the pipes tonight.

The Rangers have not gotten much out of their power play so far, scoring only twice on 20 opportunities. They have not been able to defend their own penalties very well either, conceding six power play goals.

The home ice advantage seems to be a significant factor in this series, with 10 of the last 13 meetings in Montreal going the Canadiens way and the hosts winning 24 of the last 35 meetings. The Canadiens have won all of their last four home games, last season included.

Take MTL.
