Schule's NHL BEAST of the EAST - *EARLY START*
(NHL) Philadelphia vs. Toronto, 12/20/2014 2:00 PM, Score: 7 - 4
Money Line: -160.00 Toronto (Home)
Result: Loss
This is an 8* play on the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Flyers ended a four game home-stand with back-to-back losses against the Lightning and the Panthers and a win won't come easy tonight either as they open an eight game road trip in Toronto.

The hosts are coming off a loss at Carolina but are way more comfortable at home where they've won eight of their last nine and are looking to make it six in a row. No other team in the NHL has as many goals on home ice as the Maple Leafs 76, and they are 16 goals ahead of the Lightning in second place.

The Maple Leafs have won seven of their nine games in December overall, outscoring their opponents 32-22 and both Jonathan Bernier and James Reimer has been brilliant in goal. The Flyers goaltending situation is not as fortunate as Steve Mason did not travel with the Flyers and we will see Ray Emery making his seventh appearance on the road for the season. He's not had much success in the previous ones, posting a 4.01 GAA and a .858 save percentage.

Philadelphia has only won three games away from home all season with two of those wins coming within the first seven games overall.

Take TOR.
